Greetings from the Christian Hospitality Network!

We are a ministry dedicated to providing opportunities for rest and renewal to pastors, missionaries and other full time Christian workers.

We’re back from Phuket . . .

Scores of long-term missionaries from all over Asia descended on Phuket, Thailand, for CHN’s 2007 Missionary GetAway. Days were filled with rest and relaxation, including complimentary visits to the doctor, chiropractor, and massage therapists. Evenings offered worship and encouragement services in English. This was ministry with deep emotion and instant feedback as missionary after missionary testified about the effects of getting away, and about the power of encouragement.

• We could never afford to do something like this on our support.
• Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.
• This is the first time someone has actually thanked us for being missionaries!
• Most people think we get a vacation when we go home on furlough, but the truth is, we work even harder then, traveling, speaking, and trying to raise support. This was a real vacation.
• I haven’t heard my husband laugh like that in five years.
• This event is what we needed to make it through another term.

We’re heading to Malta . . .

Next year’s Missionary GetAway will be held mid-November in Malta, a small island in the Mediterranean Sea that has lived large in history. The Apostle Paul was shipwrecked there.  It was home to the famous Knights of Malta, who were credited with stopping the spread of the Ottoman Empire. And following the Cold War, East and West leaders met there to talk about the future of Europe.

We will be inviting missionaries from North Africa, Southern Europe, and the Middle East.  If you know of missionaries serving full-time in that part of the world (or you are one!), send us their (your) name and contact information, and we’ll see that they (you) get an invitation. Christian Hospitality Network is an interdenominational 501c3 corporation. Attendees of past GetAways have come from sending agencies such as SIM, Church of God, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Southern Baptist International Mission Board, Pioneers, UMC, Youth with a Mission, Mennonite Brethren, Free Will Baptists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, as well as independent ministries and churches.
